Kukirin S1 Max: A Budget Electric Scooter That Gets the Job Done - Review by GemplayTV

Hello everyone! Summer is just around the corner, and the craze for electric scooters in Poland is growing rapidly. Today, we’re reviewing the Kukirin S1 Max – a budget electric scooter that could be the perfect solution for those looking for an affordable and functional scooter. The review is prepared by GemplayTV, so let’s dive in!

First Impressions: Solid Packaging

Upon unpacking the Kukirin S1 Max, it's immediately clear that the product is well-protected for transport. The foam surrounding the device ensures that nothing gets damaged. Inside the box, we find a user manual in several languages, a charger, an Allen key, and a few screws for assembly.

Sturdy Construction: Metal + Rubber + Plastic

The Kukirin S1 Max is made from sturdy materials – mostly metal and rubber, with some plastic parts. The scooter weighs nearly 16 kg, so it’s not the lightest model on the market, but still fairly portable. Additionally, the scooter features 8-inch tires made with Honecom technology, meaning there are no inner tubes, just foam with air pockets – no worries about flat tires!

Easy Operation and Folding

Folding the scooter is a breeze – simply pull the orange slider to loosen the stem, then hook the handlebars onto the fender. This makes it easy to carry the scooter, and the folding system ensures there are no loose parts. Kukirin also focuses on safety by adding reflective elements on the sides and LED lights at the front and rear – definitely increasing visibility at night.

Controls and Display

The handlebars are quite narrow, but the rubber grips are well-shaped, providing a secure hold. On the right side, there’s the throttle, which works smoothly and precisely, while on the left side, there's another throttle responsible for braking. Although there are no traditional brake levers, the braking system is gradual, making the braking safe and not abrupt.

The central control point is the black-and-white display, which shows the battery charge, speed, and allows you to change the speed levels (8, 16, and 25 km/h).

Range and Performance

Testing the Kukirin S1 Max with a 70 kg weight, riding full throttle, the range was about 28 km, which may decrease when riding up hills. It’s worth mentioning that with a full charge, the scooter reaches a speed of up to 25 km/h, which is quite decent for a model in this price range. However, as the battery level decreases, the scooter's power noticeably drops, especially uphill.

Test in Tougher Conditions

When it comes to terrain, the Kukirin S1 Max performs best on urban surfaces. Riding on forested, uneven paths isn’t comfortable – without suspension, the scooter shakes, and the handlebars begin to vibrate. For those planning rides outside the city, this will be a downside, but in urban conditions, it’s stable and safe.

Furthermore, in tougher weather conditions, like rain, the scooter proved to be 100% reliable. Thanks to its IP54 certification, it is resistant to weather conditions, assuring that it can be used even on rainy days.

Summary

The Kukirin S1 Max is a great choice for those looking for an affordable electric scooter for daily city rides. Priced around 1300 PLN, it offers solid build quality, a decent range, and modern features like puncture-proof tires and instant acceleration when you twist the throttle. Of course, it lacks suspension and a horn, and the plastic quality could be better, but at this price, it’s a scooter that works great in an urban environment.

Thank you for your attention! If you're looking for an affordable, solid electric scooter, the Kukirin S1 Max might be the perfect choice!

See you in the next reviews!
