Kukirin G4 – Test and Riding Impressions of a Premium Electric Scooter
Author: KorboVlog
Introduction
Electric scooters have gone through a huge evolution in recent years. They used to be simple devices with small wheels and limited range, but today they resemble full-fledged electric scooters – with powerful acceleration, high maximum speeds, and excellent suspension.
Today, I will test the Kukirin G4 – one of the most advanced scooters on the market. Is it worth investing in? How does it perform in everyday use? Let's find out!
First Impressions
At first glance, the Kukirin G4 stands out from other scooters:
-
Large 11-inch wheels – much larger than standard models (e.g., 10-inch wheels).
-
Wide street tires – provide excellent grip on asphalt.
-
Powerful 2000W motor – driving the rear wheel, with a 60V battery.
-
Solid build – looks more like a scooter than a traditional electric scooter.
After riding the first 7 km, I immediately felt the difference compared to other models. The ride is incredibly smooth, and the suspension handles bumps excellently.
Speed and Acceleration
The Kukirin G4 offers three riding modes:
-
Eco – up to ~20 km/h (ideal for relaxed riding).
-
Sport – up to ~40 km/h (best compromise between speed and range).
-
Race – up to ~65 km/h (full power, dynamic acceleration).
In Race mode, the scooter can really surprise with its acceleration. It's not an aggressive jerk, but rather a smooth, yet very strong acceleration.
🔹 VMAX? In ideal conditions (downhill), I managed to reach ~80 km/h, though on a daily basis riding above 50 km/h isn't necessary.
Pros
✅ Excellent suspension – the suspension handles bumps excellently.
✅ Large wheels – provide comfort even on rougher roads.
✅ Powerful motor – 2000W provides satisfying acceleration.
✅ Premium design – looks like professional equipment, not a toy.
✅ Indicators and lights – improve safety (though the front lights could be better aligned).
Cons
❌ Handlebar too low – for people over 170 cm, it may be uncomfortable.
❌ Weak front light – the light is pointed downwards and doesn't illuminate the road well.
❌ No removable battery – charging could be an issue if you don't have a socket in your garage/basement.
❌ Heavy build – weighs quite a bit, making it difficult to carry (e.g., up stairs).
❌ Weird kickstand – not very stable, easily retracts.
Who is the Kukirin G4 for?
-
For speed enthusiasts – if you're looking for a scooter with real "bite," this is a great choice.
-
For people riding in the city – works well on asphalt, but isn't suitable for off-road use.
-
For those who don't need to carry the scooter upstairs – due to its weight and lack of a removable battery.
Summary
The Kukirin G4 is a premium scooter that more closely resembles an electric scooter than a traditional electric scooter. It has excellent acceleration, comfortable suspension, and a design that catches the eye.
Is it worth it?
✔ Yes, if you're looking for a powerful and comfortable mode of transport.
❌ No, if you need a light scooter to carry up stairs.
Despite a few drawbacks, this is one of the best models in its class. If you're looking for something more than a regular scooter, Kukirin G4 could be the perfect choice.
